Opportunity knocks at your door once again, this time to be part of one-of-a-kind Beach run to be held first time in India in one of the longest and most picturesque beach in Ernakulam district in God's Own Country, Kerala.

Concept of Beach Run

The concept of "Kochi Duskathon" arose from the rising number of runners and fitness enthusiasts in our country. With the increase in hectic life styles and busy schedules coupled with stress and other physical diseases associated, Running has proven to be an athletic and healthy sport, which brings positivity to mind and body in more than one ways.

There are numerous marathons being conducted in our country with numbers growing at an alarming rate on a yearly basis. Kerala, popularly known as "God's Own Country" has also been witness to the Marathon culture and is an ideal destination for Running having a favorable tropical climate, world-class scenic destinations and least polluted regions in the country.

However, the concept of "Beach Run" is completely new. Ernakulam district, host to the highest number of international and domestic tourists in the state, having a beautiful unexplored coastline with serene beaches provides a wonderful opportunity for conducting such an event. The peak season of December-January will also be the ideal time for this Beach Run because of the favorable climate and increase in International and Domestic tourists who could also participate in this event.

The one-of-a-kind Sunset Beach Run event to be held first time in India is being organized and executed by one of the veteran tour operators in the field, "Santos King", based in Kochi. They have the rich experience of having conducted various adventure tours within Kerala and parts of South India, and are well versed with tackling the complexities and formalities associated with such events. This event is expected to create waves in the general public and youth population of Kerala as well as the active running communities in the domestic and international circuits.

This event will be held in association with DTPC Ernakulam and will help in promotion of Beach, Adventure and Sustainable tourism in Ernakulam district and also promote the theme of "World Tourism Day - Sustainable Tourism - a tool for development".

Objectives

Aiming at promotion of the theme of World Tourism Day - "Sustainable Tourism - a tool for development Tourism", this event will highlight the message of promotion of tourism in the following areas:

Inclusive and sustainable economic growth

Social inclusiveness, employment and poverty reduction

Resource efficiency, environmental protection and climate change

Cultural values, diversity and heritage

Mutual understanding, peace and security

The event will also promote Beach and Adventure tourism in Ernakulam district and also highlight the importance of maintaining one's health and benefits of Running to the general public. This will encourage more people to take Running as part of their daily life and routine. This event will also provide a gateway for organizing more National Level running events in Kerala, especially Ernakulam district in the near future.

Who does it ?

The event is being organized and executed by one of the veteran operators in this field, "Santos King", which is based in Kochi. They have the rich experience of having conducted various cycle tours within Kerala and parts of South India, and are well versed with tackling the complexities and formalities associated with such events. This is the first ever National level event of this team, and is expected to create waves in the general public and youth population of Kerala.
